his past month our Soldiers Bible ministry has been a rather unusually quiet period with the transition of one of our Chaplains, Chris Rusack, as he returned home to a family that has missed him dearly. Praise the Lord! Many thanks go out to you Chris, for so kindly sharing your experiences over there with us and all of our readers.
At the request of Kim Elam, Western North Carolina Blue Star Mothers Group, along with 14 other mothers of soldiers asking for our assistance in putting together 150 soldiers Christmas packages for sailors, soldiers and Marines who are deployed worldwide. Most of them are US Army but there's a mix. We shipped 150 complete Bibles, 150 “Learn the Bible in 24 Hours” CD's by Chuck Missler, and 150 gift certificates for Berean Online Fellowship, as well as free Bible courses through Koinonia Institute for Kim to include in the Christmas packages.
Through this relatively quiet period, we were given some moments to reflect on the wonderful work we have seen our Lord do through these brave men and women of ours that are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The mere thought of our soldiers in combat areas winning souls for Christ is simply awe inspiring and a true testament to carrying the light that they have been given proudly. If these soldiers can boast, let it be in Christ that they tarried for him under the toughest of circumstances.
I pray this season we will all take the time to reflect on our experiences and how we handled them, and seek God’s Peace here on Earth as He is the only one who is able to offer such a gift. I pray when you are traveling this holiday season, that when you see a soldier in the train stations, the airports and bus stops, that you will walk up to him and thank him for his service and pass some of His Peace onto them. I would just like to take this moment to say that I love each and every one of our brothers and sisters out there, whether soldier or civilian, mom or dad, brother or sister, aunt or uncle and covet you for God’s divine purpose in your lives. We are in this together, and there may be some dark and tumultuous days ahead of us, but we’ll get through them together and with Christ as our leader.
For our troops, Soldiers Bible Ministry wishes to convey our gratitude to each and every one of you and to thank you for your integrity and your loyalty to this nation and your fellow citizens. God bless each and every one of you, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we will see you again in 2009…
In Yeshua,
John Reynolds
