Soldiers Bible Ministry Update
By John Hoben

“For the Word of God is living and
powerful and sharper than any
two-edged sword, piercing even to
the dividing apart of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow, and
is a discerner of the thoughts and
intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

Through the gracious support of Chuck Missler and his fantastic team, this month's K-House Personal Update features an 8-page article highlighting Soldiers Bible Ministry.  We encourage everyone to get a copy of this "print only" publication.  To get your copy and learn more details on this excellent periodical, please click here.

SBM Ships Hundreds of Bibles and Study Materials This Week

Thanks to the blessings of our donors, we were able to ship hundreds of Bibles and Bible study materials to several chaplains throughout North America, Iraq and Afghanistan.  This is an excellent step in the right direction toward fulfilling thousands of more requests still pending.

Here are a couple of the "thank you" notes we received recently:

"Thanks for the online membership...I look forward to the fellowship and study."
Ryan, US Navy, serving in the Mediterranean Sea

"Wow! You guys are awesome. Thank you so much. Chaplain and his soldiers will be very grateful. Thank you so much for your ministry!"
Angela, US Army, Serving in Asia

"The airmen of the *** control team would like to thank you for your generous gifts!  We are a unit of Air Force personnel currently filling an Army tasking at Camp ***, Iraq.  It really drives home the support that the citizens of the US have for their troops. Thank you!"

DoD Response to Prayer Lawsuit

As many of you know, Soldiers Bible Ministry was mentioned in an AP News article referencing a lawsuit against the US Department of Defense Secretary, Robert Gates.  The suit charges the DoD with forcing a soldier to pray in the name of Jesus against his will on several occasions.  The DoD filed a motion for dismissal (click here to read it in its entirety).  While it's a long read, it contains essential material documenting how Christianity in the Military does not violate the US Constitution.

Fourth of July Tribute:
Founding Father Rev. Jonas Clarke's Famous Quote

On April 18, 1775 John Adams and John Hancock were at the home of Rev. Jonas Clarke, a Lexington pastor and militia leader. That same night Paul Revere arrived to warn them of the approaching Redcoats. The next morning British Major Pitcairn shouted to an assembled regiment of Minutemen; "Disperse, ye villains, lay down your arms in the name of George the Sovereign King of England." The immediate response of Rev. Jonas Clarke or one of his companies was:

"We recognize no Sovereign but God
and no King but Jesus."
