Uganda Update

By Denise Matthews

“Train up a child in the way
that he should go, and when
he is old, he will not depart
from it.” Proverbs 22:6

As preparation continues for the upcoming trip to Uganda, we have been in contact with both Pasty and Pastor Ruth, discussing the needs of the children and how best we can accomplish those needs set before us. While at times those needs appear overwhelming and feel out of bounds with what we seem able to accomplish, we must remember that we serve a God that knows no bounds, whose very ideas are limitless. His plans are never to harm us, only to prosper us.

In our nation and around the world, people are struggling to make ends meet. Most have had life fairly good, and they too are now feeling what it's like to want basic needs met. It's frightening and sends our very nerves on edge. The children of Tororo have known nothing else. They are in need of nothing more than the basics, something that no child should be without.

Please continue to pray for our mission on this journey; to supply those basic needs as we share the gospel with their tender hearts. We have needs laid before us that include a medical center that is incomplete as funding has run short, a dormitory to house 300 orphans and provides for a school on the lower level, clothing, and something as simple as a piece of fruit.

I'd like to thank Dr. James Richardson MS D.D.S. and Dr. John Pearson MS D.D.S. of Corona California for their generous donation of toothbrushes for the children. Again, something we in the states and abroad take for granted, a toothbrush. God Bless you both for your generosity!

Father, Thank You for the plan you have set before us. I pray for opportunity to come that we may meet those needs abundantly~
