Life’s Tapestry

"Commit your works
to the LORD and
your plans will be
established."
Proverbs 16:3
ow many of us have that perfect job? You know, the one where you joyfully get up in the morning and think, "Wow, I get paid to do this?" If you're like me, you have never been at that utopian job. Although if you currently have a job in today’s tenuous economy, remember to send a prayer of thanks to the Lord for his provision for you today!
And if you are questioning God’s delay in answering your prayers, I encourage you to take a step back and really look at the job the Lord has blessed you with. Why do you think you are there?
The Lord may want you to shine as a light in a dark place, to minister for a season to the divine appointments he will place in your daily path, or you may just be there because the Lord blessed you with this job to provide for you and your household for this moment in your life.
In all things, we should do our work heartily for the Lord (Colossians 3:23) and give thanks in all our circumstances. Be encouraged that the Lord knows your needs and your heart’s desires. What we see in the physical realm many times does not reflect what God is doing in the spiritual realm as He weaves the beautiful tapestry that is your life.
As in the words of one of our treasured old hymns, “When we walk with the Lord in the light of his word, what a glory he sheds on our way! While we do his good will, he abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey.”
